Context
The main purpose of the contexts is to increase the visibility of the project by filtering and highlighting issues based on criteria.
The user will be able to hide or highlight some issues via a custom filter/highlight or a saved JIRA filter. Each board will have their own context.
The custom filter/highlight is based on:
-
- Statuses - multi selection
- Issue Types - multi selection
- Issue Priorities - multi selection
- Assignee - single selection
- Component - multi selection
The saved JIRA filter are:
-
- All your JIRA saved filters that have the project preselected in the project's criteria of the filter.
Other Criteria
-
- Assign to me - Will only display the issues that are assigned to the user
- Sort by - Will sort your issues based on the selected criteria (ASC or DSC)

Built-in contexts
GreenHopper comes with 2 built-in contexts:
- The on the fly context
A none deletable context that will allow all logged-in users to build new contexts.
- The Default context
A none deletable context that only the project administrators can edit and that is shared to all users and anonymous users (if your project is public). It is very important to understand that editing this context will affect all users that use that context.
Context Sharing
Once a context is created and that you are a project administrator you can share the context to all the project members.
Only the project administrators will be able to unshare these shared contexts and only the owner of this context will be able to change the criteria or delete the context.
