GreenPepper Open

Join the Community

Our goal is to make it as easy as possible for you to join and to contribute to the GreenPepper community. Therefore, we provide access to all required tools enabling efficient collaboration. They are all well integrated, so a single registration is required.

Our internal developers are fully available in any way. They all have a personal space on the wiki. We also advertise our commando days. Feel free to join. If you have a feature in mind but you are not sure how to proceed, do not hesitate to ask for advice on the forum or even ask to pair program online with one of our developers.

Any other advice on how we can help create a thriving and fun community is welcome; tell us, we will be glad to listen.

Below you will find the contribution process and the collaboration tools in place.

Contributing to GreenPepper Open

The easiest way to contribute to GreenPepper Open is to create a patch file of your changes and to attach this file to the appropriate issue in JIRA. Before making a contribution, please read our licensing policies and sign a Contribution agreement.

If you provide contributions using the procedure explained above, existing contributors may decide to give you commit rights in the source repository.

Tools provided

GreenPepper itself

Visit the Confluence side of our GreenPepper instance to find all sorts of development-related information. The Jira side is used to track bugs and feature requests.

Forums

We maintain a certain number of forums for users and developers using GreenPepper. Anyone is free to register to our forums.

Developer mailing list

We suggest you use the forum to exchange information on the project development (issues, design discussions, future directions, etc.). The forum provides RSS feeds, notifications of reply, and private messages. If you think it is more convenient, we have a mailing list you can use (here is the registration page).

Continuous integration server (Bamboo)

You can access our continuous integration server. It is the ideal place to go to obtain the latest binaries.

Source Code

As well as providing public access to the code via any subversion client, we provide an instance of FishEye, which offers great functionalities for browsing the source code. The GreenPepper Open subversion repository resides at http://www.greenpeppersoftware.com/svn. To check out the latest revision of the trunk, use the following command line:

svn co http://www.greenpeppersoftware.com/svn/trunk GreenPepperOpen

When prompted, enter 'anonymous' in the user name and password fields.
