Is there a documented procedure (or story in the backlog) for charting velocity?

Just wondering if this is something I should be able to do in Greenhopper
now or if it is in the backlog. Thanks!

It is already supported.
You can actually draw charts (burndown, burnup, velocity) on any metric that you want.
Like Story points, business values etc...

You only need to follow 2 steps.
1) Add a number custom field in JIRA
JIRA > Administration > Custom Field
2) Add this field as a statistic in GreenHopper
Project > PlanningBoard > Configuration > Statistics and charts

Unless I am being stupid I cannot see a "Statistics and charts" option inside the Planning board configuration. Any clues? Has it moved?

Incidentally I have added a Story Points number field and there is still no option

If you are under GH 3.6 you will find it diirectly in the top of your planning board column

If you are in a prior version you can add it from your:
Planning Board > Configuration > GENERAL >> Add stats and charts

THe filed has to be a "Number Field" type custom fied.

We're currently trialing GreenHopper with a view to purchasing it. I'm trying to create a velocity chart based on our GreenHopper Trial Version - ENTERPRISE, Version: 3.7.2-jira313.

I've followed the instructions above on creating a Story points custom number field (including re-indexing) but I can't see the Statistics and charts section under configuration. I only have the following sections:-
- General Setup
- Ranking Fields
- Sorted Fields
- Flagging Field

Is this because it is a trial version or is there something else I need to set up to get velocity charts to display?

THe link is right in the top of your PlanningBoard column.
It is called "Stats"

Adding a stats will give you the access to your charts.
