Duplicate required fields in New Card dialog

I have a custom field I use to track story points. This field is required in my project.

I set it as the field to show in the lower right hand corner in card view. Now, when I click on "New Card", the field appears twice as required. Like this:

*Story Points: [ ]
*Story Points: [ ]

If I don't fill in BOTH of the fields, greenhopper spits an error back at me.

If I disable the required field or remove the field from the corner in the card view, things work as expected. Neither is something I'd prefer to do.

How do I get around this? I don't want to disable this as a required field.
